Online not In Line

Student Victory

After staging a sit-in in January 2010, the DSU has gotten the College administration to commit, in writing, to implementing an online course change system for the spring 2011 semester.

The history of the Campaign

In the fall of 2009, the DSU recently collected over 4,500 petition signatures calling on the Dawson College administration to act swiftly towards the implementation of an online course change system.

The current system made it so that at the beginning of every semester, students wanting to change courses are stuck missing classes in excessively long lines. Often, students were informed that their class had filled up or that course change is done for the day, after having wasted several long hours waiting.

Students overwhelmingly expressed that the system was archaic, exhaustive, and costly.  The Dawson College administration had claimed that switching to an online system is a 'priority' for over 3 years, but little advancements had been reported on the matter.
