Student Power is the theme for this year's DSU Orientation. Between August 25th & September 3rd, the DSU will be hosting events that remind us that students and youth are the most influential catalysts for change.

August 25th: Dawson Dinin'

The official launch of Dawson Dinin', our new weekly free vegetarian food service.

 

August 26th: Scavenger Hunt

Get orientated throughout Dawson and win some prizes.

 

August 26th: DSU Meet & Greet

Meet the DSU executives. Find out how to get more involved in your Union. Cheese, crackers & drinks on us.

 

August 27th: The Trotsky -- Outdoor Movie Screening

7PM, east courtyard (along Atwater blvd)
Free movie screening of The Trotsky with popcorn under the stars.

August 30th: Cultural Food Fair
12PM, Conrod's
Come enjoy a taste from cultures that make up the Dawson mosaïc.

 

August 31st: Club Fair

12PM, Conrod's

Drop by the club fair to meet the 25+ clubs that are the heartbeat of student life on campus. Interested in starting a club? This is the place for you.

August 31st: Climb Dawson
starts at 11AM
The escalators at Dawson are always clogged. This is your chance to get acquainted with the many staircases around Dawson. Those who find all the staircases and takes the most creative pictures wins.

 

August 31st: Uncalled For Comedy

6PM, Conrod's
Uncalled For, one of Canada's most infamous sketch comedy/improv troupes will be performing in Conrod's.

 

September 1st: Toast & Jam

9AM, Conrod's Courtyard

Toast is on us. You bring the (musical) jam.

 

September 1st: Dawson Dinin'

September 1st: Art Day Workshops

September 2nd: Speed Friending

Exactly what it sounds like. Want to meet new friends in 2 minutes or less. Sign up for this inaugural round of speed friending.


September 2nd: DSU Speaker Series: Maude Barlow
5:30PM, 5B. 16
Maude Barlow is a Canadian author and activist. She is the national chairperson of The Council of Canadians, a citizens’ advocacy organization with members and chapters across Canada. She will be speaking to Dawson about the danger of the commodification of water.

 

September 3rd: Free Concert: Nataly Dawn, Julia Nunes, Lauren O'Connell
7PM, Le National (1220 Ste. Catherine)
The DSU is extremely proud to be hosting a concert with 3 of youtube's most accomplised musicians. Nataly Dawn, Julia Nunes and Lauren O'Connell have taken the internet by storm with their creative, ecclectic and soulful musical accolades. They will be playing a free concert for all Dawson students at Le National.
